Your boring old desktop, now in 3D! Or at least if iZ3D has anything to say about it. The new 22-inch iZ3D widescreen 3D gaming monitor just hit iZ3D's online store for an almost-palatable $999. The displays run off of included S-3D drivers, which are supported by the NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series, and ATI's FireGL V3600 workstation graphics card. There are also DirectX 8 and 9 drivers for XP and Vista, so you should be able to score some sort of 3D content without having to run out and buy new rig. The 3D tech uses passive polarized glasses to create the 3D effect, and feeds off of dual output video cards. The display itself boasts of a 1680 x 1050 resolution, 5ms response time and 600:1 contrast ratio.

The company just announced that it's sticking 8GB of flash into its Cruzer Micro USB flash drives, and will sell the new model mid-September for around $130. Of course, you can always score a 4GB drive for $70, or even a 2GB for $40, so choose your obscene amount of flash capacity wisely.

This high-def rear projection should feel right at home within the ho-hum Olevia brand as it's equipped with nothing exactly ground-breaking, but it does have some of the latest mainstream HD goodies. We're talking about 1080p at a quick 4-millisecond response time, dynamic contrast ratio rated of 2000:1, and the standard set of inputs: two HDMI, two component, VGA, S-Video, composite, and of course, coax. The Apple class-action party continues folks, this time featuring a disgruntled New York State customer named Herbert H. Kliegerman, who claims that the Cupertino giant failed to adequately disclose information pertaining to the "locked" nature of the iPhone and the roaming charges which might be incurred if a user was to take the device overseas. According to the 9-page suit, which was filed Monday in a New York Supreme Court, Kliegerman traveled to Mexico a few weeks after purchasing the phone, where he proceeded to check e-mails and make calls, blissfully unaware (or so the suit tells us) that AT&T would be charging international roaming fees for the usage. Apparently, when Mr. Kliegerman received his bill, he was shocked to discover $2,000 in the aforementioned fees. The suit argues that if he had been allowed to unlock the phone and use a foreign SIM card, the costs could have been avoided. As a result, Mr. Kliegerman is seeking a judgement which ba...

Sure, we all love jet packs. Who doesn't enjoy strapping a gigantic tube of highly flammable fuel to their back and igniting it so it can propel you hundreds of feet into the air? Well, an inventor named Raymond Li has a different idea, one which he's just managed to patent: a water-propelled rocket pack. The new design would use a system of conduits which route pressure to independently pivoting thrust nozzles, while the actual engine, pump, and dangerous gases remain floating on water in a self-contained, buoyant package. It's somewhat unclear if you'll be able to rocket over land using this device (the fact that the engine is water-based would suggest no), though it is an interesting development for jet-pack enthusiasts.

One clever Make-er / modder hacked his alarm clock so that you can punch, slap, or flick the entire clock to get the alarm to stop blaring its ear-destroying wake-up call... at least for about nine minutes. The format war isn't going anywhere anytime soon, the players are the cheapest yet, and there are free discs by the bucket-fulls just for signing up. The latest promo on Amazon gets you three free HD DVDs if you buy an HD-A2, HD-A20 or HD-XA2 Toshiba player. Add that to the five free HD DVDs Toshiba will give you through mail-in rebate and you're practically getting the player for free. Amazon's currently having trouble keeping the HD-A2 in stock, and HD-A2s sold by third-party merchants don't qualify for the three free promo, but stick around and you just might be able to nab one. The promo runs from now to September 23.

Pinstack has scored a plethora of high quality shots detailing the GSM / WiFi variant of the Pearl 2, OS 4.3 and all. As we'd heard before, the presence of WiFi excludes the presence of GPS here and it'll be up to carriers to decide which model to carry -- an especially tough decision considering that there's no 3G radio. Most of the Pearl 2's rumored improvements are in full display in this gallery, too: the 3.5mm headphone jack, external microSD slot, moderately improved keypad, and a fresh coat of paint.
