Sure, we know that the photo up over there just looks like someone took a regular iPod, squashed it down, duplicated it, colorized it, and then pasted the copies in a playful circle. But what -- just what -- if you're actually looking at the 3G Nano? According to 9to5Mac (and at this point only according to 9to5Mac), Apple's next move on the iPod front will be short, squat, and muted-pastel colorful. The site previously reported that the new color scheme will come in a variety of shades not dissimilar to what their "spy shot" shows, so at least their own info lines up. Other than that? No corroborating evidence from Apple, and no leaks from other sources indicating this direction... let's just say we wouldn't make any bets on this particular piece of news.

Sure, we've seen a plethora of Bluetooth GPS receivers over the years, but GlobalTop's latest manages to stand out in the crowd. Boasting 51-channels, a reported 20-hours of battery life, and a built-in antenna, the oh-so-sexy G66 Touch measures in at just 3.09- x 1.96- x 0.27-inches. Additionally, you'll find USB connectivity / charging support, -158dBm sensitivity, a trio of LED indicators, and a fairly respectable startup time. Not a lot of dirt beyond that just yet, but review units should be hitting hands soon enough.

Today Mitsubishi took some time to out their latest, 1,080p home theater projector by the name of LVP-HC6000. The followup to their LVP-HC5000 opts for a trio of 0.74-inch LCDs from Epson and 160W UHE lamp to up the dynamic contrast to 12,000:1 while the throttling back the brightness a tad to 800 lumens under a quiet 19dB operational whir. The DVI input is gone in favor of a pair of 1080/60p/24p HDMI terminals, composite, D-Sub15 RGB, and S-Video inputs. Video processing then, is handled by a 10-bit Reon-VX processor from Silicon Optix. Expected to hit Japan for ¥350,000 (about $3,040) on September 25th. It's one thing to long for Sudoku on your handset, but to pick up a Japanese look-a-like trinket that handles the former yet omits any calling abilities just seems silly. Nevertheless, this interesting handheld purportedly allows brainiacs to whittle the day away with Sudoku puzzles, and while it sure looks eerily similar to a-many of Sony Ericsson's mobiles, there's no reception onboard. Of course, it is only ¥980 ($8.54), so it's not like the manufacturer is really trying to dupe anybody -- right?

If you thought the MyGIG or even Bose's Media System was high-class, Azentek is out to change your perception. Recently, the firm inked a deal with DiMora Motorcar "to provide high-performance computers for the Natalia SLS 2 sport luxury sedan." The ride, if you weren't aware, will be a hand-crafted $2 million, 16-cylinder production automobile, and will sport "at least two Atlas units" which boast voice recognition, FM / XM Radio / Sirius / HD Radio, Bluetooth, CD / MP3 / WMA / DVD support, GPS navigation, VoIP / cellphone integration, "over a terabyte" of storage, and Windows Vista for good measure. Additionally, users will be able to interface with the machines via touchscreen, keyboard / mouse, a handset, USB, auxiliary inputs, etc. Sure makes Blue&Me look like child's play, no?

Samsung's serious about HD camcorders, and is bringing the gear to IFA to prove it. Its new VP-HMX10 HD camcorder records 720p H.264 video with a 10x zoom to an SD (and hopefully, SDHC) flash card. Apparently Samsung is also launching an integrated memory version dubbed the VP-HMX10A, which has 4GB of storage built in, SD expansion, and a 3 second "Quick Start" so you never miss the action. What's the German word for hotness?

Like your flat panels flat, we mean, really flat? Then check this, Sharp's prototype LCD which jams a 100,000:1 contrast ratio into a 52-inch LCD display only 20-mm (0.78-inches) thick. Right, we're talking LCD, not OLED. In fact, the entire TV measures just 29-mm (1.14-inches) at its thickest point while covering 150% of the NTSC color gamut and consuming just 140 kWh/year. Shazam! Unfortunately, Sharp fails to mention the resolution but tells us to expect the new TVs sometime in 2010. While everyone is pining over the new Canons (and rumored Nikons), Sony has quietly unveiled their Cybershot DSC-H3. Of course, it doesn't warrant the comparable fuss. This latest super-zoom to go point-and-shoot brings a 1/2.5-inch, 8 megapixel sensor; 10x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens; optical image stabilization; ISO 3200 sensitivity; and 1080p image out via a multi-use AV terminal which requires -- you guessed it -- a $40 proprietary component conversion cable from Sony. Thanks. Still, not bad for $300. Pre-orders for US-itizens start tomorrow.

We've been fooling around with a new Roomba 560 of our very own and we can say with some certainty iRobot's really improved on its product. Unfortunately, that isn't saying a whole lot; while we've always loved the Roomba for what it is, we've never never been too impressed with the job it does. Still, the built-in scheduler is just such a welcome addition, and the robot is much quieter and generally feels far better built than its predecessor. The fact that the internals are better sealed is also a huge bonus, since we've long found ourselves cleaning our Roomba's innards out nearly as much as its vacuum bin. Jury's still out on the Lighthouses -- it's a decent idea, definitely, but we'd really prefer if the robot actually started trying to learn where things (and its own position in real space) are instead of just using battery-operated stations to tell it which rooms it's already visited. But hey, baby robot steps, right? Photo gall...
