Trust us, Texas isn't the only place on the verge of melting right now, but this solution to solving one's automotive AC problems is the perfect marriage of tawdry and frugal. As you can clearly see in the photo above, a University of Houston graduate student opted to retrofit a home air-conditioner into his vehicle rather than coughing up $1,200 to have it repaired the right way, and while we've no idea how much he spent on the unit itself, the wiring, or the additional gas thanks to the added drag, we have a sneaking suspicion that this mod was about more than dollars and cents. Click on through for a few more photos, but please refrain from trying this on your own ride, cool?

Notebook Italia has shots and specifications for a rumored 17-inch Dell Precision M6300 laptop, which could replace the ageing Dell Precision M90. We'll start with the most interesting feature, which is a BTO option for up to 8GB of installed RAM available when you include a copy of Vista 64-bit. Beyond that, the M6300 is rumored to feature Intel Core 2 Duos from 1.8GHz up to 2.4GHz, with a 2.6GHz Intel Core Extreme X7800 topping out the line. It'll also come with options for NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M, 2600M, or FX 3600M graphics cards. There will apparently also be options for 1440x900, 1900x1200, and 1920x1200 glossy and matte displays, and a Blu-ray drive configuration. The word is that this model could ship by August 31st, so at least you haven't got long to wait.

In case you haven't noticed, Disney has been finding its way into a plethora of handhelds and portable media players of late, and it looks like the firm has accomplished yet another takeover on Aigo's latest. This Winnie the Pooh-themed device sports an oh-so-cute exterior, 3.5-inch LCD, an image viewer, AV output, an SD expansion slot, up to 16 hours of battery life, 2GB of internal storage, and support for a variety of files including VOB, RM / RMVB, AVI, ASF, MPEG, and DAT (VCD). Unfortunately, it seems the kid-friendly MV5910 most certainly packs a premium, as the pricetag on this adorable piece sits at CNY1,699, or just over $224. Click on for another shot -- you know daddy's favorite girl will end up with one anyway.

C'mon, we all knew PS3 clusters were good for more than academia, right? Thankfully for those who are itching to jump right into a worldwide dogfight when Warhawk lands, it looks like Sony has you covered. Granted, the game will allow for PS3 owners to host and play on their own matches, but the Ranked-Dedicated servers that you may also opt for shouldn't be lacking in terms of sheer power. Constructed by the SCEA IT team, this ginormous PS3 cluster will soon be used to connect Warhawk gamers everywhere, and while we're never told precisely how many PlayStation 3s were scrounged up in order to make this happen, feel free to click on through for another shot and start countin'.Continue reading Sony erects massive PS3 server cluster for Warhawk mayhem

On the surface, a PlayStation 3 doesn't seem like too much to give a person for saving your life, but when the request comes from the little man to whom you (in one way or another) gave life, things aren't so clear. Reportedly, the nine-year old Matty Lovo came the rescue and saved his pop's life by calling for help after his father passed out behind the wheel of his tractor-trailer. In an interview with CNN, the youngster didn't hesitate to label himself a hero, and moreover, wasn't shy about stating that a shiny new PS3 seemed like a fair reward for such a saintly act. Sheesh, talk about demanding.

Sure, it's been nearly three full years since Dell's Axim X50v was the envy of all your neighbors, and while you aren't likely to find any official updates for the PDA coming out of Round Rock anytime soon, there's (nearly) nothing an engineering mind can't whip up. That said, folks dreaming about migrating Windows Mobile 6 onto their X50v can snap out of it and get to work, as a pioneering individual has apparently managed to do just that. 'Course, we'd recommend that you think long and hard before installing unofficial software onto your handheld, but if you're the mettlesome type, feel free to hit the read link and try 'er out.

Some 16 months after we heard the last crazy twist in the Gizmondo crash fiasco, it looks like the case may finally be winding down. After searching high and low for a "mysterious witness" known only as Dietrich -- who, if you'll recall, supposedly fled the scene after he crashed the Ferrari Enzo in question -- LA county police now have reason to believe that Trevor Michael Karney may actually be this elusive (and fictitious) character. As fate would have it, it seems that Karney lied to the boys in blue on the night of the crash, when in fact, he was the passenger that was "using a video camera to photograph Eriksson driving at speeds of up to 162mph." Of course, fibbing to the fuzz and and resisting arrest aren't exactly angelic deeds, so it looks like Mr. Karney will too have his day in court soon enough.

Believe it or not, booking a hotel in space may become a reality sooner rather than later, and if things go as planned, the Galactic Suite will actually be welcoming in guests sans gravity in just five short years. Folks who make the trip will be able to "see the sun rise 15 times a day and use Velcro suits to crawl around their rooms by sticking themselves to the walls," and while spas with floating water sure sounds like something we'd be interested in, the nightly fees are quite literally out of this world. How much? Try $4 million for a three-day stay -- better bring your camera, eh?

We'll admit, we're suckers for just about anything retro, and Grundig has certainly won us over with its forthcoming Audiorama speakers. These spherical gems can be placed on narrow stands, hung around, or sat on an end table, as the 360-degree sound emissions should cover the space adequately. Unfortunately, details concerning the power handling, frequency range, etc. are still under wraps, but those feelin' the vintage vibe can check out a four pack out next February for around €600 ($826).
